What is ZATCA Phase 2?
Phase 2 (the integration phase) requires taxpayers to integrate their invoicing systems with ZATCA's Fatoora platform, so invoices are shared with ZATCA as signed XML. It has been rolled out in waves since 1 January 2023.
What is the difference between clearance and reporting?
Clearance applies to standard (B2B) tax invoices: ZATCA validates and stamps the invoice before it goes to the buyer. Reporting applies to simplified (B2C) invoices: they are issued straight away and sent to ZATCA within 24 hours.
Do credit notes need to go to ZATCA too?
Yes. Credit and debit notes follow the same rules as the invoice they correct. Valeurx links them to the original and sends them automatically.
How do we connect our company to ZATCA?
You generate a one-time code in the Fatoora portal and enter it in Valeurx. The certificate is issued and stored for you; renewal is tracked.
